Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns

This place suits me perfectly! Great amenities like wi-fi, 24-hour reception, and an outdoor swimming pool make my stays enjoyable. The helpful staff arranged a taxi for me on my first visit, which I appreciated. I'm coming back for Christmas!

The location is great and beautiful, approx 10-15 minutes' walk from a bustling indoor market. The rooms here are impressive and huge with balcony...

The room we booked was huge and spotless with a view over the Esplanade and comfortable beds plus the bathroom. The staff were all NICE, understanding.

The staff were lovely. I also had the pizza for dinner first night we got there, it was delicious. I like the fact that it had a smoking room down next to reception and it also has a very cute bar/restaurant aswell.

The staff are all a bit misinformed it seems, not all of them are upto date with the guests info or info they should tell guests. If someone makes a booking and you give them the option to request a special need, you should respect that. Need to pay a little more atention to that. The reason i put down poor on clean room, is beacause there were ants and 1 or 2 cocoroches. I also requested a smoking room which when making the reservation it asked, and was placed in a none smoker and also after confiming the Cot for my baby, walked in the room and had no cot the entire stay..Its unfortunate because the staff are lovely, but need to pay more attention to those details of your guests.

Fantastic Gym, lovely pool and spa, fantastic view of mountains from mountain view rooms. Nice amount of space in rooms.

Only that there was no microwave in the room for heating things.

it is twin bed room, but each bed is 1.5meter. they have shuttle bus in the afternoon at 3, 6, and 9 to city center and night market. they have spa pool for free of charge.

It was perfectly clean and the staff were amazing friendly and excellent co-operating, beds were comfy. I ate at an amazing restaurant with their Fire & Ice menu. Close to a bus station, the location was good. Had a very lovely stay of year-July and Winter, recommend this place.

Should you go for it? My answer

A beautiful stay with amazing views! The restaurant offers great evening meals at reasonable prices, alongside a diverse drink selection. Room size is decent, providing ample space. Location lets you conveniently explore the city. You'll enjoy the inviting pool area. Just be prepared for a bit of distance to the main attractions.

Good value for Money, only 15 minutes walk to the CBD/Marina along the waterfront. Friendly staff who were generally helpful. Chris the porter was fab - recommending and booking trips, car hire etc.

Not the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on - lumpy and hard. The shower curtain as a little worse for wear and the grout could have done with a good scub. But generally clean and comfortable otherwise.

I liked the fact the hotel was walking distance to many main attractions that I wished to see.

Extremely slow service with placing order for evening meal and its arrival ie.entree 45 minutes. Then I did not have a main , but then had to ask for menu 15 minutes later to order dessert and coffee.The restarauntwas barely 1/4 full.Staff pleasant but inexperienced.Meal tasty.

Right from the minute we walked in the staff were very friendly and helpful. The layout of the room was very good. The bed was the most comfortable that I have ever slept in, in any hotel / motel. A great nights sleep. Very good clean, room facilities and the hotel felt secure. The location was also great making for easy access to the cairns area. We have stayed there before and were very happy that we picked it again. We will be back.

It is situated near cairns city and on esplanade so we do not need to hire Texi any Time... :)

Just one thing .. Should have to shower Cabin instead of Bath Tub..

We paid extra for the upgrade and it was worth it for the view! The staff were super polite and helped us with our reservations, and let me tell you, waking up to those ocean views was a rush.

It wasn't cheap but it was still acceptable.

Bed was great, view of ocean was tops, loved the amount of light that came into the room too. It's always good to have a microwave when you don't want to spend up big! All rooms should be suites! A separate bedroom is very civilized, as was the 2 TV'S.

Towels were a little too worn/grey for my liking and there was no separate conditioner, shoe polish or body lotion in the bathroom pack. (Those two in one shampoo /conditioners never work well!)

Express check in and check out. Free willy.

Poor response (unresponded) phone calls to reception and housekeeping for a number of times. Baby cot was requested on a Tuesday morning and was delivered Wednesday night after 3 follow ups. On Booked.net site it says free shuttle is every hour. When we reached the hotel, it only services free during 3pm, 6pm and 9pm.
